I learned a lot at the Technology Integration & Instruction for the 21st Century Learner (TICL) conference at Buena Vista University this past summer. I came away from it will all kinds of ideas for how to make our Web Programming class more meaningful, more applicable, and maybe even a lot more fun!
If you like computers and using the Web, then this is the class for you! If you think you might be interested in studying Information Technologies (IT) in college or as a career- this is the class for you.
It's 3 credit hours- in fact, you can get college credit for it from Iowa Western Community College (IWCC)!
If you haven't got a 2nd hour class yet, or aren't so sure about the one you're signed up for- make sure to see Mr. Straight or Mr. Mallory ASAP when you come back to school this week!
Web sites, Wikis, Blogs, forms, Google Documents, Widgets, etc. etc. Learn how to create them, manage them, and use them!
Official IWCC course description; Fundamentals of Web Programming teaches how to create, design, publish, and maintain a web site. Students learn HTML, DHTML and CSS using web site creation software. Design considerations such as usability, download time and aesthetics are emphasized.
