NO SHOOTING ASSIGNMENTS OR EDITING SOFTWARE ASSIGNMENTS FOR THIS CHAPTER (Spring 2011)
But- if you want some extra credit, I encourage you to retouch at least one picture and create at least one composite (like on pp172-173). Composites can be wicked-fun and totally surreal. FYI any adjustment or composite pictures required in this year's portfolio list are just optional- but, again, if you want to take a stab at or or are already acquainted with image editing, I'll sure give you some extra credit for any that you do decide to do.
Picture Analysis
Please complete a Photo of the Week and choose a composite picture. You can find lots of examples in the galleries that I've given you links to below. This is due on Friday, April 29. Use the POW form-http://digphoto.wikispaces.com/Pictures+of+the+week
Read, think about and plan on writing about...
Do please check out the discussion on Ethics and Digital Imaging found on page 179.
I will put an essay question on the ch 7/8 quiz (FRI APR 29!) in which I would like you to discuss the dilemmas posed by our ability to manipulate images so easily. They used to say that "the camera doesn't lie," but let's face it- they sure can these days!
