Yearbook Test

Welcome to awesomeyearbookville Staff,

Just testing Josten's website to make sure it will email you if I need it to

YB NEWS:
  • No, the 07-08 books aren't here yet, I expect it will be Sept. I had to upload page 33 to them 4 times!
  • Bonnie Erlbacher and Christine Harriott both have 7th hour studyhall and want to help this year. Bonnie was "Editor" last year and Christine really should've been Managing Editor last year but they voted for Cody Nelson instead. You know, the way it works at most every high school in the universe is that the Editor is a Senior and the Managing Editor is a Junior, who takes over the Editor job their Senior year- kind of like Student Council Co-Presidents (call them co-editors if you want to for all I care, but they'd better get a long!) Anyway, They'll be helping us (maybe even getting started without us while we're learning stuff), so I thought I'd let you know. Christine's also gonna help me with 7th grade cheer!

SURF REPORT:

Here are three websites that you will need to bookmark and plan on using this year-

http://mrmallory.blogspot.com/search/label/Yearbook
This is where I will post assignments, vocab terms and announcements that you might need. If you're sick or gone and miss notes, you'll want to check it for to know what's gonna be on upcoming quizzes. I meant to include it on the syllabus but forgot to, so visit there right now and make sure to bookmark it or add it to your computer's favorites list. You'll need it.

Remember I said that we're building the yearbook online this year? THIS is the website where you'll go to log on to do just that. I'll give you login names and passwords in class on Monday or Tuesday of this week! When you go there, you'll want to make sure that you pull down the menu so that it says "2009." There's not much you can do for the 2008 book anymore anyway!

http://www.yearbookexplosion.com
This is our local Iowa Josten's site. It has lots of great ideas, and you can find out about Colleen, our Rep.

https://images.jostens.com
This is where you can go to upload pictures that you think we could use. Any kid in school can upload pictures for us this way.

http://boyer-valley.fesdev.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/District%3E%3E%20The%20Archive%20Yearbook
This is our very own section of the school's website. Why don't YOU submit pictures to me for the "Picture of the week" portion of the school website?
Throughout the year we'll be posting images from a dog's life- the life of a Boyer Valley Bulldog, that is. Many of the pictures may be by Mr. Mallory the yearbook advisor or from students either on the 'Archive' Yearbook staff, in Digital Photography class or Mrs. Hanigan's Digital Imaging class which produces the 'Student Voice' newspaper.

PHOTO OPS:
  • Got any ideas that would really show life at BV? 6th graders or Freshmen looking lost the first week of school? The new teachers? Be creative.
  • Sports practices, XC, VB, FB either hs or ms
  • Anybody going to any of the juice scrimmages? That would be great for the yearbook OR the school website!
See you in school,
Mr. Mallory
